Preparation for IIT_JEE for last 2 years in VMC has been the most prolific and influential era of my student life. Just a few days back i was in class 11th and today i have cracked IIT-JEE! Everything has happened so quickly as if time is running speedily!

My journey started in class 11th when i got admission in VMC. The year passed in quite a relaxed manner – confidence of being a VMCian………….. no pressure of IIT (it was really far away at that time ) ……………. just enjoying studies ……………. learning to cope up with school and coaching work simultaneously …………… learning to skip games period in school to study modules ……………. learning to prefer VMC classes over school exams .Nut still , there was a small element of carelessness also as IIT exam was still quite far . For instance, watching cricket matches and prolonged gossiping with friends only declined my performance at VMC test series. I didn’t realize that slowly i was entering the most hectic phase of my life – CLASS 12th.

Undoubtedly, class 12th has been the biggest learning stage of my life so far . Whatever experiences i have got and whatever i have learnt and imbibed from my teachers at VMC , based on them , here are some points to ponder for all those who are aspiring to be IITians .

As you enter class 12th , you may well find yourself in a pressure cooker situation in early months – pressure of Board exams from school side , pressure of fierce competition from your classmates , may be pressure of expectations from your parents ………. and the aura around you may change suddenly . Some students achieve a perfect balance between all these aspects within a short period of time and they are the ones who perform in long term. But the major lot of students is unable to bring the required harmony and they start thinking of the dangerous ‘QUIT’ .

Now you simply cant spent time on useless activities. Certain short term joys have to be sacrificed for your long term success. However, there is no use of mugging for 15-17 hours as such a schedule simply squeezes out your energy. Even 8-10 regular hours are sufficient given that you put in your 100% concentration. Lack of concentration at study table is the most common problem of students and for students like me, it slowly becomes a ‘HABIT’ which must be avoided. Often you may receive frequent scoldings from your teachers, parents or even discouraging comments from your friends . But you cant afford to be get carried away by them. Such hinderances should make you tougher , not weaker . You have to pick up only encouraging comments from your atmosphere to move ahead . Avoid being too emotional or too possessive on getting negative feedbacks from your close ones . Life is not complex ; we ourselves make it so and we can mould our life in any way we want to !

In any institution you study , you have to submit full intensity to the proper revision of ‘class copies’ which you make on the basis of whatever you have learnt in classroom . Classroom study has to be revised thoroughly because in classrooms , each and every topic of JEE syllabus is covered . In our education system , importance is given to book study rather than revising classrooms . In VMC , i learnt that if one revises classrooms , he has prepared whole JEE syllabus .

Another important key is ‘ACCEPTANCE’

Accept whatever you experience . Getting good marks in a particular exam does not guarantee that you will succeed everytime . You have to be open and broad – minded to every possible outcome . Consequently , getting less marks in a mock test must be a step forward to get better marks in next exam ! Accept every result in a positive way . YOUR FUTURE RESULTS HAVE NO CORELATION WITH YOUR PREVIOUS PERFORMANCES .

Have ‘ SUBCONSCIOUS FAITH ‘ in yourself , specially in last four months . Spent more time with yourself , giving positive positive affirmations everytime regardless of your performances . THINK MORE ABOUT YOURSELF RATHER THAN OTHERS . Neither your teachers nor your parents know you better than yourself . You yourself have to search for excellence within you . Never ever think of JEE result in a negative manner – because your result has already been destined by nature ! Just give your 100% and be psychologically relaxed . If a normal average boy like me can reach IIT by following these things , you are destined to be the topper !
