“However difficult life may seem, there is always something you can do and succeed at.”
-Stephen Hawking
Life is a game and a cunning one. It finds our weakest spot and plays with it. What matters is not how it makes us rise and fall but, how we rise after every fall. History is the proof that how some of the specially abled people went onto conquering the world, wearing their disabilities like a crown. What would be the world of Physics without Albert Einstein or Stephen Hawking? What might be The United States of America devoid of Franklin D. Roosevelt? Can we imagine the realm of artists in absence of Frida Kahlo? How can we name boxing without naming Muhammad Ali? Or our graceful dancer Sudha Chandran , whose dance reflect the waves of the floating ocean. Divided by their obstacles, these legends had one thing in common, i.e., they were all oblivion to the definition of ‘giving up’. Life may have been all thorns for them but they assured to find roses. No matter how difficult it got, they followed their most intense passions obsessively. They endowed that their conditions were only labels, sure they had couple of scars but, all great heroes do.
Somewhere we all are fighting silent battles against the war of life. The disability only makes it worse. But remember that ‘disability is just another ‘ability’ and just know that you are not alone and that, there are people like Hawking, Keller and many more who have probably gone through what you are, and has made an indelible mark in billions of heart. Being different is not something to be ashamed of, it is a superpower. It makes you think out of the bonds. Often in the face of adversities, one is bestowed with two choices, either to sit behind or to hold the steering wheel and take the favored road. The latter will unquestionably bring with it gamut of difficulties but nothing worth having comes easy. If you want to become top-notch engineer or doctor or merely anything under the sky, then don’t sit behind. Don’t let your disabilities come in the midst of your dreams. It’s not your disability but the abilities that count. And as long as your heart is pumping, there’s no mountain that cannot be touched and no star you cannot reach. Wondering about your abilities? Let me give you a brief highlight of our “Abled personalities”, whose names are and will ever be written in the pages of history:

Not to forget our own Sudha Chandran , whose dancing skills defied her inabilities of motion…and then the list of “these true gems” will go countless …But what’s important to keep in mind is that, with will power, you are bound to conquer all the hurdles of your lives.
