“You’ll never change your life until you change something you do daily. The secret of your success is found in your daily routine.”
-John C. Maxwell
Despite of how much you want something, sometimes the only things you do with uniformity will end up influencing your future. It’s a subtle impact yet a powerful one. There are no two ways about the fact that best habits can lead us towards zenith of success while the bad ones can deter us from our goals and keep us unsatisfied.
The saying, “It takes 21 days to form a habit” stands up in all the verticals of life. Building great habits and taking control of your destiny is the only way to become better, motivated, healthy and successful in life.
To get started, draw some inspiration from the following points:
- Make a priority list everyday: One of the best ways to stay driven and systemized is by creating a checklist of chapters or things that need to be studied or completed each day. The more tasks completed and checked off, the more driven and satisfied you will feel.
- Make the utmost use of “now”: Don’t hunt for the right time instead, seek out and make the most of the opportunities present in front of you.
- Exercise: This is probably few of the habits tough to adhere to yet the most important. Exercising for at least 30-45 minutes a day not only affects your physical health but also improves your mood and boosts your energy.
- Don’t procrastinate: Procrastination is always on the table for students. It’s imperative to understand that by not putting your syllabus, homework and assignments on hold for the last minute will save you from stress, scarcity of sleep, and will get you your desired grades.
- Don’t compare yourself: This is another difficult habit to adopt, but its effects are equally rewarding. Every student is unique and going through different situations. The only person you should compare yourself with is to the person you want to be.
- Have a positive outlook: A healthy amount of optimism goes a long way when you’re faced with a bad situation. It may seem cliché, but sometimes the darkest storm clouds really do have silver linings. Try cultivating the habit of positivity and watch yourself conquer any stone that life throws at you.
- Never give up: Keep marching. Keep moving forward. You must approach the problem determined and motivated. Sometimes problems and impediments are a chance to create alternative paths, to dream bigger, to push forward and take even larger leaps. But whatever you choose to do, don’t ever give up.
Every day we make hundreds and thousands of decisions, but most of them subconsciously. All these small and big decisions sum up to your life and serve as an encouragement for you to transform your daily routine and work towards a better overall welfare.
