Life is easier when we have selected choices to choose from. Or would you disagree?

Is life easier with technology, or has it become a distraction of sorts?

We can debate on this endlessly, and the results would probably amaze us. In this age of technological advancement, we have achieved success at a different level. Let us take the social media handles that have acted as fuel to many. There are many people who feel an upsurge of energy when they share their lives with the whole world. Be it their breakfast, or a distant relative’s success party, it’s all going to be circulated to the whole wide world.

We cannot blame social media, neither can we comment on the magnanimous scales of technological upliftment. But the fact of the matter is that all of this DIGI-LOGY(Digital-Technology), as I call it, has disrupted lives at a very vast level. The most affected are school, and college students. They are being dodged from digilogy to reality check. While others are so addicted to mobile phones and television, that their growth is stunted. They have health issues that were once identifiable with 40 or 50 plus age groups.

Little children are suffering from myopia. While there are signs of inattention, impulsivity, and poor short-term memory, leading to behavioral and learning difficulties. Obesity has been another major point of concern, stress, and worry for many parents. Lack of physical activity only allows diseases of various kinds to creep in, slowly but surely!

The side-effects of DIGI-LOGY will not only disrupt physical growth, but destroy natural intelligence, and skill set. They get so obsessed that it invariably detaches these kids from their parents, friends, and other humans around. The reason for this disconnect happens because they seem to have found a companion that never disagrees, nor disobeys their wishes. This distorts their perception of what is real, and what is unreal! But because they find so much instant relief by, let’s say, playing their favorite game on the mobile, that nothing/no one really does seem to matter to them. In fact, sadly the child is all sweet, and obedient in front of the parents/guardians because their interest lies in the gadget that they so desperately would need.

There were times when a break from studies was an hour’s play on the streets with friends, but today there is NETFLIX, FACEBOOK, INSTA…so on and so forth.

It is not only mentally draining, but emotionally, and morally exhausting. All such activities have eventually led to distance amongst family members, that cannot be defined and made understood very easily.

In order to be able to keep tabs, it is imperative to take control.
