JEE Main 2023 exam on 31st Jan’23 was difficult for the mathematics component and moderate to easy for the physics and chemistry sections, according to student reviews.

The degree of difficulty as determined by student comments as of January 31, 2023 (Forenoon Session) are as follows:-

  • Math – Moderately Difficult Level. Algebra and coordinate geometry chapters received weight. Parabola, Ellipse, Definite Integrals, Area, Matrices, Probability, Statistics, Permutation & Combination, Determinants, Vectors, 3D Geometry, Complex numbers, and Progression Series were among the topics covered in the questions. Long calculations were necessary for both MCQs and numerically based problems. Some pupils felt that this segment was lengthy and difficult.
  • Easy level of physics. Chapters on rotational motion, SHM and waves, gravity, heat and thermodynamics, wave optics, current electricity, electrostatics, AC circuits, modern physics, communication systems, and semiconductors are given more weight than others. Questions that used math were rated as being simple. Overall, this section was evenly balanced.
  • The moderate level of chemistry. Organic and inorganic chemistry were given more weight than physical chemistry. The inquiries derived from the qualitative analysis. Chemical Equilibrium, Atomic Structure, Solutions, Electrochemistry, Chemical Kinetics, d & f Block Elements, Quantitative Analysis of Compounds, Environmental Chemistry, Chemistry in Everyday Life, Biomolecules, Hydrocarbons, Amines, Ethers & Phenols, Aryl & Alkyl Halides. Compared to the Numerical Section, MCQs were challenging.
  • Math was Moderately Tough, Chemistry was Moderate Level, and Physics was Easy in terms of difficulty. According to the students, this paper was Moderately Tough overall.
  • Plain paper was provided to students for preliminary work.
  • According to the students, there was strict supervision.
