Day 5, shift 1 of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2023 was successfully conducted on April 12. The Engineering entrance exam is being administered by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in two shifts. The first shift finished at 12 o’clock, the second one started at 3 o’clock.
JEE Main Exam 2023: Overall Difficulty Level
In the morning shift, Physics was the easiest of the three disciplines, while Mathematics was moderately difficult. According to the students, this paper was overall of a Moderate level.
The Mathematics section:
Mathematics section was moderately difficult. All chapters were covered in the questions, although coordinate geometry and calculus chapters received the most attention. Circles, ellipses, and hyperbolas were used as the subjects of mixed concept questions. Vectors (2 questions), 3D Geometry (3–4 questions), the Binomial Theorem, progressions, matrices, mathematical reasoning, statistics (2 questions), permutation and combination, and probability were the chapters in algebra covered. Area, Differential Equations, Functions (3 problems), Definite Integrals (2 questions), and Calculus. Long calculations were made in the numerical section. There were few reports of tricky questions.
Physics Section:
The physics portion of the exam was simple. Kinematics, fluids, heat and thermodynamics, kinetic theory of gases, gravity, rotational motion, EM waves, electrostatics, semiconductors, magnetism, AC circuits, current electricity, modern physics, and ray optics were among the topics covered in the questions. Questions based on numbers were simple. According to the pupils, this portion was balanced overall.
Chemistry Section:
The level of Chemistry was simple to intermediate. Physical and organic chemistry were accorded less weight than inorganic chemistry. Physical Chemistry – Solutions, Electrochemistry, Chemical Kinetics, and Ionic Equilibrium were the main topics of the numerical-based problems. Also, there were questions about Phenols, Coordination Compounds, P&D Block, and Chemistry in Daily Life. Amines, aldehydes and ketones, biomolecules, and polymers were the subjects of some mixed-concept questions in organic chemistry. Inorganic Chemistry’s Match the Following questions have been criticized by some students as being difficult and time-consuming. Organic chemistry was said to be challenging.
