The dates for the CBSE supplementary practical exams for classes 10 and 12 have just been released by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). These exams are specifically designed for students who have applied for supplementary exams. The timetable for the practical exams has been made public, and they are scheduled to take place from July 6 to July 20.

Passing Criteria and Overall Pass Rates:

To be considered as passing, students must achieve a combined score of 33% in their theory and internal assessments. The overall pass rates for CBSE Class 10 and Class 12 this year were 93.12% and 87.33% respectively, indicating a commendable performance by the students.

Exam Format and Locations:

The CBSE supplementary practical exams will be administered to regular students at their respective schools. However, private students are required to appear at the same location as their theory exam center for the supplementary exams. The board has asked schools to upload the results of the students’ practical exams on the portal the same day in order to maintain openness and convenience. It is important to note that requests for mark changes will not be entertained.

Compartment Category Students:

Students who have been placed in the compartment category for CBSE Class 12, indicating that they have repeated both the theory and practical exams, will need to appear for both the theory and practical supplemental tests. This requirement ensures that students are given a fair chance to demonstrate their knowledge and skills.

For students in the compartment category for CBSE Class 10 internal assessment who were also absent, pro-rata internal evaluation marks will be awarded based on their theory scores from the supplemental exams. This provision ensures that students are not unduly penalized for their absence and allows them to receive a fair evaluation.

Final Thoughts:

The release of the CBSE Class 10 and 12 supplementary practical exam dates brings clarity and enables students who have applied for supplementary exams to prepare accordingly. With the implementation of transparent evaluation procedures, the CBSE aims to ensure fairness and accuracy in assessing students’ practical skills. By providing an opportunity for improvement, the board encourages students to strive for better results and enhance their academic performance.
