CBSE Board Exams 2023: competency-based questions will be incorporated to change the pattern!

According to the Ministry of Education, at least 40% of Class 10 CBSE exam questions and 30% of Class 12 exam questions would be competency-based in 2023. These questions will come in a variety of types, including case-based, assertion and reasoning, objective type, and constructing response type. In response to a written query in the Lok Sabha, Annapurna Devi, the minister of state for education, gave the information.
In an effort to change the examination format, the CBSE has begun including competency-based questions in the board exams for Classes 10 and 12. The formats of these questions range from case-based to assertion and reasoning to objective type to constructing answer type “She stated.
According to the minister, in the academic year 2022–2023, “around 40% of the questions in the Class 10th board examinations would be new and approximately 30% of the questions in the Class 12 examination are competency-based.”
The minister said, following the introduction of the new National Education Policy, 2020, the CBSE has encouraged affiliated institutions to implement the proposals about the instructional pattern.”
The minister cites a number of these as being particularly important, including the introduction of qualified counsellors at the secondary and senior secondary level, the emphasis on fundamental literacy and numeracy skills, adoption of learning outcomes, use of experiential and enjoyable learning pedagogies like art integrated education, sports integrated learning, storytelling, etc.
