The Cybersecurity Technology Innovation Hub called C3iHub, located at IIT Kanpur, has initiated a Cybersecurity Skilling Program. The program is backed by the Department of Science and Technology of the Indian government under the NM-ICPS Mission and supported by two incubated start-ups, Threat Guardians Pvt Ltd and Worker Union Support. The program’s primary objective is to equip learners with comprehensive knowledge of cyberspace’s technical fundamentals and issues, impart advanced real-time cybersecurity techniques and methods, and focus on the latest models, tools, and techniques to enforce security.

What is a C3iHub?

C3iHub is a Technology Innovation Hub situated at Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur and supported by the Government of India’s Department of Science and Technology under the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems. It deals with cybersecurity of cyber-physical systems comprehensively by identifying security vulnerabilities in vital cyber-physical systems, creating security tools to address these issues, establishing start-ups and collaborating with industries to market the security tools, and training the next generation of cybersecurity experts.

At the IIT Kanpur Outreach Centre in Noida, Chief Guest Sh Vijay Sampla, Chairman of the National Commission for Scheduled Castes, officially launched the C3iHub Cybersecurity Skilling Program. Sh. Vijay Sampla praised C3iHub during his speech for its contribution to the field of cybersecurity as well as its initiatives to educate and empower students in this area. Sh. Vijaya Sampla also discussed various initiatives run by India’s National Commission for Scheduled Castes.

Sh Vijay Sampla expressed that cybercrime is currently the most significant challenge, and C3iHub is playing a vital role in ensuring a secure and safe cyber world.

Prof. Manindra Agrawal, the Project Director of C3iHub, stated that the program would enable students to learn about cybersecurity from fundamental to advanced levels, making them well-prepared for the future.

Threat Guardians Pvt. Ltd., WUS, and C3iHub-incubated Start-ups are partners in the program. All students and professionals are welcome to enroll in the program, which is free for SC/ST students and costs a little charge for everyone else. The Cybersecurity Skilling Program’s final date of registration is 30th April 2023, and it will be conducted online, making it accessible to students from all over the country. The program will last for eight weeks, with a workload of six hours per week and will include online assignments, live sessions, and practical exercises. Upon successfully completing the program, learners will receive a certificate from C3iHub that will enhance their professional profile. Furthermore, the top 100 students will be given an opportunity to undertake an internship.

The primary goals of the C3iHub Cybersecurity Skilling Program are to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of cyberspace’s technical fundamentals and associated issues. It also seeks to introduce real-time cybersecurity techniques and methods in the context of protocol suites to highlight the importance of network security solutions.
