Marking Scheme:

Paper 1:

Section 1: Each correct answer will be awarded four marks, and for every incorrect answer, one mark will be deducted.

Section 2: Each correct answer will be awarded four marks, and for every incorrect answer, two marks will be deducted.

Section 3: Each correct answer will be awarded three marks, and for every incorrect answer, one mark will be deducted.

Paper 2:

Section 1: Each correct answer will be awarded four marks, and for every incorrect answer, one mark will be deducted.

Section 2: Each correct answer will be awarded four marks, and for every incorrect answer, two marks will be deducted.

Section 3: Each correct answer will be awarded three marks, and for every incorrect answer, no marks will be deducted.

It is important to note that if a candidate marks more than one answer for a question, it will be treated as an incorrect answer, and one mark will be deducted.

Number of Questions:

The number of questions in JEE Advanced 2023 will be different for Paper 1 and Paper 2. The total number of questions for each paper will be 54, divided into three sections, with 18 questions in each section.

The distribution of questions in each section for both papers is as follows:

Paper 1:

Section 1: 6 MCQs with one or more correct answers.

Section 2: 6 MCQs with single correct answers.

Section 3: 6 NATs with numerical value as the answer.

Paper 2:

Section 1: 6 MCQs with one or more correct answers.
