Exam for JEE Main shift 1 was held on February 1, 2023. The JEE Main exam is being administered by NTA in two shifts, the first from 9 am to 12 noon and the second from 3 pm to 6 pm, in accordance with the published schedule. According to many who took the tests, the paper was moderate to easy, however some claimed that it was moderate to challenging.
The least difficult subject was Physics, although many students thought Mathematics was only a middling subject because of certain difficult computations. Although average students find arithmetic challenging, good students are able to finish the paper in the allotted time.
Here is a thorough analysis:
- CHEMISTRY
Coordination compounds, equilibrium, thermodynamics, redox processes, chemical bonding, and chemical kinetics were some of the main chapters from which questions were asked. The chapters’ coverage was consistent overall.
Questions were raised regarding metallurgy, d-block, and hydrogen. Physical chemistry accounted for the majority of the numerical-based problems, with Organic and Inorganic Chemistry accounting for the remainder. The paper was by and large based on NCERT books as well as examples.
Overall, there was a fairly even distribution of questions from the Physical, Organic, and Inorganic chemistry. The key to passing these tests is a comprehensive study of the NCERT texts, completing NCERT exemplar problems, and taking NCERT-based practice exams.
- PHYSICS
Two questions from electromagnetic waves and four from mechanics were on the paper. With appropriate proportions, other chapters were also added. Many of the numbers used formulas in a significant amount.
Students claimed that the paper in XII Physics carried more weight. There were simple inquiries regarding communications and electrostatics. Being able to pass a lot of practice exams would be a wise move.
- MATHEMATICS
Due to the extensive computations required, the mathematics section required only modest but slight extra time. There were sporadically a few good questions included. There were two binomial problems as well as four vector and three-dimensional questions.
Algebra, Coordinate Geometry, P and C, and Calculus questions were included. All major subjects were mostly covered.
Difficulty level of the exam in general
Overall, the examination paper was balanced and doable in the allotted time. The student Mathematics paper indicated that it was comparatively simpler than the JEE main paper from the day before. With the physics paper, the students were pleased. According to students, the order of difficulty is Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
