The JEE Main Result 2023 for the second phase was recently released by the National Testing Agency, with approximately 2.5 lakh students qualifying for the JEE Advanced exam. However, for those students who prefer to enroll themselves on the basis of their JEE Main score only, there are several options available to them, including admission to IIIT and GFTI, as well as the 32 NITs throughout the country.

Know more about it!

Students are understandably curious about the possibility of being admitted to their desired institution based on their respective percentile scores. For instance, those students with a percentile of more than 99 are likely to obtain a core branch in some of the top NITs, including Trichy, Warangal, Surathkal, Allahabad, Rourkela, Calicut, Jaipur, Kurukshetra, and IIIT Allahabad. Similarly, those with a percentile between 98 and 99 can also get core branches in the top 10-20 NITs, as well as IIIT Jabalpur, Gwalior, Guwahati, Kota, and Lucknow.

For those students whose percentiles range from 96 to 98, admission to other remaining NITs is possible, in addition to the core branch of the top 20 NITs, including NITs in the Northeast such as Patna, Raipur, Agartala, Srinagar, Silchar, and Uttarakhand NIT, as well as BITS Misra, Punjab Engineering College Chandigarh, JNU, and Hyderabad University.

It is important for students to note that these are approximate estimates based on previous years’ cutoffs, and admission ultimately depends on several factors such as the number of available seats, the number of applicants, and the current year’s cutoff. Nonetheless, it is reassuring to know that a percentile score of 96 to 98 can still provide the possibility of getting into some of the top 20 NITs with the core branch of their choice, making their dream of pursuing engineering a reality.
