The government of Jharkhand has decided to offer vocational training to children in 325 block-level model schools. This initiative aims to provide education that is employment-focused. According to the official, 80 schools of excellence throughout the state would also use the skill-based training.
In this regard, a plan has been created in accordance with the Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s instructions, and it will be unveiled in March at a state-level event. The initiative states that training will be provided in 11 trades, including those related to agriculture, information technology, information technology-enabled services, clothing and cosmetics, home furnishings, media and entertainment, tourism and hospitality, beauty and wellness, multiskilling, electronics and hardware, retail, and healthcare.
In order to provide students with employment prospects that match their interests, the announcement stated that plans were being developed to promote on-the-job training through industrial field trips to state-level businesses and institutes linked to the relevant trade.
The National Center for School Leadership has provided two phases of online training to principals of Schools of Excellence and Model Schools. Additionally, they have gotten training from the Azim Premji Foundation and IIM Ranchi over the course of two rounds.
“Exposure visits to similar schools in other states are being planned for the principals and chosen teachers so they may become familiar with the educational resources offered there.
“IIMs will provide training in January to help principals develop their capacities. The statement also stated that the Azim Premji Foundation Framework has been developed for the Teaching Needs Assessment (TNA) of secondary and higher secondary school teachers.
All 80 Schools of Excellence will be affiliated with the CBSE beginning with the April start of the new academic year.
