The biggest attribute that one can possess is a good attitude, and the highest form of that attitude is being ‘fearless’.
‘One individual may die for an idea, but that idea will, after his death, incarnate itself in a thousand lives.’ Was rightly said by Subhash Chandra Bose, one of India’s greatest independence warriors, who will be remembered as the man who poured his heart and soul into the country’s freedom struggle. Even though one of the country’s greatest patriots died in 1945, he continues to inspire millions of people today.
January 23rd is celebrated with pride every year in remembrance of our great freedom fighter Netaji Shubhash Chandra Bose. The title ‘Netaji’ means ‘Respected Leader’ in Hindustani, and it was initially applied to Bose by Indian soldiers in 1945.
Let’s know more about him.
On January 23rd, 1897, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose was born in Cuttack, Orissa. He was sent to England to study for the Civil Services exams after obtaining his Philosophy degree in Calcutta. In 1921, he went to India, where the British authorities mistook him for a rebel because of his zealous patriotism. In the late 1920s, Bose rose through the ranks of the Indian National Congress’s youth wing, eventually becoming Congress President in 1938 and 1939. Due to conflicts with Mahatma Gandhi and the Congress high command, he resigned from Congress leadership positions in 1939. After being held under house imprisonment by the British, he managed to flee India in 1940. During WWII, he established the Indian National Army in Southeast Asia in 1942, which was made up of Indian soldiers from the British Indian army who had been captured in the Battle of Singapore. In Andaman and Nicobar, which had been occupied by Japanese forces, Netaji founded a provisional government of Free India or Azad Hind in 1943. Netaji is supposed to have perished on August 18, 1945, from third-degree burns sustained when his plane crashed in Taiwan. The Indian government has formed a variety of committees to probe the circumstances surrounding his death. Since then, his life and legacy have served as an inspiration to generations of young Indians, and Netaji Jayanti is a chance to commemorate his contributions to India’s freedom struggle.
What is Parakram Divas?
Parakram Diwas, also known as Bravery Day, is now a recognized national holiday in India and is observed on January 23rd. It was first announced by the Indian government in 2021, in honor of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s 125th birthday.
Republic Day celebrations will begin on January 23rd, rather than January 24th, in 2022, to coincide with Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s birth anniversary, as part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “aim to highlight fundamental aspects of our history and culture.”
Statue Inauguration of Netaji Shubhash Chandra Bose
PM Modi stated that while the statue is completed, a hologram of Subhash Chandra Bose, also known as Netaji, will be displayed at the site. On January 23, 2022 (Sunday), the Central Government, which is now hosting the Azadika Amrita Mahotsava in honor of the 75th Independence Day, will commemorate Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s 125th birthday. A spectacular 28-foot-high granite statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose will be unveiled opposite India Gate in Delhi as part of this. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, through his Twitter account, informed the public about this.
