Swami Vivekananda once said, “We are what our thoughts have made us; so take care about what you think. Words are secondary. Thoughts live; they travel far”.
So beautifully Swami Vivekananda shared the gist of human existence envisaging perfection. None of us are oblivious of this great name, who taught us the lessons of life with which each one of us can identify. Some call him a saint, while others know him as a writer. No matter what brackets we group him in, Swami Vivekananda continues his legacy of warming the hearts through the ideologies that he left behind. He focussed on the fact that our thoughts have that unflinching ability to shape us as the human beings that we become. Words become a secondary factor because they are only sensory representations of someone or something’s idea. And someone who uses their words to symbolize a mental representation can deteriorate over the passage of time.
Swami Vivekananda laid much focus on the youth of our country because, without a doubt, the future of a nation is the responsibility of its youth. Yes, the youth have to take the legacy forward, whether they take it as a burden or an honor, is totally their mindset. The values that we are enriched with, decide the outcome of an individual, a community, or of a nation that is as vast as India.
On the auspicious day of Swami Vivekananda’s birthday, we celebrate National Youth Day or Rashtriya Yuva Diwas.
The National Youth Day raises awareness and educates people about their rights in India. It is a day set aside to teach people how to act correctly in society. The main goal of the event is to inspire youth and share Swami Vivekananda’s views so that the country might have a brighter future. No doubt he was a great inspiration for all National Youth of India. Across the country, several functions are organized in schools, colleges, etc.
In 2022, The National Youth Festival, which aims to bring diverse cultures of India and integrate them into a united thread of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharata’, in Puducherry will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who will also participate. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the festival is being hosted virtually. He also said “Apart from encouraging my young friends to participate in the program, I also encourage them to contribute their ideas. It’s always a pleasure to hear from India’s bright young people.”
A National Youth Summit will also be held on January 13, 2022, with the goal of bringing India’s varied cultures together and integrating them into a unified thread of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’ through an immersive and engaging approach.
Kisi lekhak ne sahi kaha hai ‘Jago mere sangi Sathi Jago har ek Deshwasi, tu hi jo bana sakta hai, Apne Desh ka Swarg, Tum kyon bhatak rahe ho, andhkaar mein yahan wahan, Tum kyon nahin nikalte, Gyan ki Khoj mein, Bas tum in bhautik chizon ke bare mein, Sochte rahe jaate ho, aage badho tumhari, is jahan ko jarurat hai, Jago mere sangi Sathi, vah har ek Deshwasi”.
Therefore, it is your energy, your thought, and your karma that will define tomorrow. May you shine bright. Happy National Youth Day.”
“All differences in this world are of degree, and not of a kind because oneness is the secret of everything”. – Swami Vivekananda
