The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has recently issued a circular outlining crucial guidelines and expectations for the upcoming board practical examinations, internal assessments, and project evaluations slated to begin on January 1, 2024. To ensure a smooth and fair assessment process, CBSE is urging schools to make timely arrangements, including the preparation and stocking of laboratories and the prompt identification of internal examiners.
In a bid to enhance transparency, CBSE is mandating schools to publish the List of Candidates (LOC) well in advance, clarifying who will be participating in the practical examinations. Accuracy is paramount, and schools are instructed to double-check that students are correctly categorized as regular, compartment, or improvement candidates in the online system.
Emphasizing precision in the assessment process, CBSE is instructing schools to input practical exam marks accurately, adhering strictly to the specified maximum marks as outlined in the circular on the bifurcation of marks. Students are advised to personally verify that their subjects align correctly with the submitted LOC.
It is crucial for students and parents to familiarize themselves with the syllabus and identify the subjects earmarked for practical examinations. CBSE has made it clear that there will be no provision for a second chance to appear in practical exams, underlining the importance of adhering to the specified schedule.
CBSE has further directed Regional Offices to oversee the timely completion of practical examinations in all schools within the stipulated schedule. External examiners are to be appointed in applicable classes and subjects to ensure a fair and unbiased evaluation process. Practical Answer Books must be delivered to schools ahead of the commencement of practical examinations, a measure to streamline the entire process.
As the 2023-24 board practical examinations approach, it is imperative for schools, students, and parents to be well-informed and proactive. Adhering to the guidelines set forth by CBSE will not only contribute to the smooth execution of practical examinations but also foster a fair and transparent evaluation system.
