Any country’s youth are its foundation. They stand as the foundation of the strengths that support a growing country. On January 12th, National Youth Day is fervently observed in India. The main goal of National Youth Day celebrations is to inspire and guide the nation’s youth in making better decisions about their lives.

Youth make a commitment to remain committed, ambitious, and responsible in achieving their goals and acting as responsible citizens on National Youth Day. Swami Vivekananda’s birthday, 2023, is the day when National Youth Day is observed. It is a nice way to honor him because he was a huge inspiration to the populace.

On January 12, 1863, Swami Vivekananda was born in Kolkata, Bengal. His real name was Narendranath Dutt, later known as Swami Vivekananda. He was also a well-known and significant Vedanta spiritual teacher. He gave up his worldly ties at the young age of 25 to become a monk.

Youth Day is observed on the anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s birth because of his motivational ideas. Like every year, National Youth Day will be observed on January 12 in 2023 as well.

History behind the National Youth Day

For the first time in 1984, the Indian government designated January 12—the anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s birth—as National Youth Day. By motivating the youth with his style of life and the ideas of Swami Vivekananda, the government hopes to build a better future for the nation. This day is a wonderful opportunity to inspire youth with new power and vitality. Since then, January 12 has been observed annually as National Young Day to encourage youth.
