“Ambition is the path to success. Persistence is the vehicle you arrive in.”

Bill Bradley

Ambition is equal to nothing when you are not willing to be consistent and persistent with your actions. It’s quite natural that people quit and settle for anything they get when they are not instantly rewarded for their short-terms efforts. However, it’s the rarest of the rare people who ignores immediate satisfaction and realizes that success is not a one-night journey but a long mile which requires little steps every day.

In order to be successful, you must build up your efforts over time until they align together to achieve your desired goal. If you are anticipating to get a top rank in JEE/NEET or aiming to grab a seat in your favorite engineering or medical college then, you need to undertake strategic actions and persist at them. Success seldom comes easily. Often the only difference between those who are able to turn their dream into reality and those who don’t is the ability to keep going long after others have given up.

Here are few effective ways which could help you persist and prevail in all the situations:

  • Having a vision: It’s important to have a goal or vision in mind for that’s what will keep you motivated and drive you to greater heights. Having a vision will help you stay focused and will prod you to reach your goals.

  • An intense desire: It’s rightly said, “If you really want to do something, you’ll find a way. If you don’t, you’ll find an excuse.” Irrespective of repeated failures, road blocks, and times when it seems like no progress is being made, it’s the intense, powerful and the burning desire within you that will keep you motivated and aid in moving forward.

  • Inner confidence: Having a highly developed sense of who you are will permit you to continue on without being deeply affected by what others think of you or, being appreciated by those around you. Time and again your inner confidence will get tested and shaken but, it will never get destroyed and will continually act as a major source of courage and determination.

  • Well-developed habits: There’s no doubt about the fact that staying motivated incessantly while preparing for exams is quite difficult. It’s in the moments like these that you have to rely on self-discipline whilst building habits that you can count on considering your path towards the end goals.

  • Learning from failures: One of the utmost results of persistence is developing the ability to learn and move on. Failures on your preparation journey are unavoidable, but persistence will teach you to continue progressing on a positive note while improving upon previous setbacks. Successful students know that quitting is not an option, nor is surrendering to one’s failures.
