On March 6, 2023, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) held the class 12 Physics board exam. The nationwide exam was three hours long and was administered from 10.30 AM to 1.30 PM. For students in the science stream, physics is a crucial subject, and the majority of them are interested in knowing the difficulty level of the exam questions. Analysis of the physics exam paper
35 questions were asked in total. There were no optional questions. Section A, Section B, Section C, Section D, and Section E made up the five portions of the exam. There were no optional sections. There were 18 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) in Section A, worth one mark each, seven questions in Section B, worth two marks each, five questions in Section C, worth three marks each, three lengthy questions in Section D, worth five marks each, and two case study-based questions in Section E, worth four marks each. There was no overarching option. Sections B, C, D, and E had, nevertheless, offered an internal option. In these questions, students could choose only one option to try.
Student’s Opinion
- The NCERT book was the source of the majority of the questions. Due to the paper’s extensive calculations, they considered it to be just fairly tough.
- The paper wasn’t difficult or easy. Despite the thorough exam preparation, many students found several of the questions to be quite lengthy.
The exam had some varied reviews, but the majority of students thought it was well-balanced. Due to the conceptual nature of the subject, the physics exam is usually challenging. Apart for a few questions that are typical every year, the most of the questions posed were simple and uncomplicated. All other questions were moderately difficult in terms of difficulty, however several numerical questions required calculus and understanding of mathematics.
Expert Opinion
MCQs in section A of the exam were the easiest and most highly scoring segment, according to experts. Although the short-answer questions were meant to be more confusing, the long-answer questions were straight from the NCERT. The questions, in comparison to previous years, seemed to place a greater emphasis on the application of concepts.
The CBSE class 12 physics test was divided into 5 sections with a maximum score of 70. The exam had to be completed in three hours by the candidates. The question paper might be read by candidates for 15 minutes. During this time, writing responses is prohibited.
