The cost of freedom is always high, but Indians have always paid it. And one path we shall never choose, and that is the path of surrender or submission.

Even in times of distress, we have the privilege to relax and have a cup of coffee while the armed forces maintain peace and security within the nation’s boundaries and protect the nation’s territorial integrity from external aggression and threats. It performs humanitarian rescue operations, such as Operation Surya Hope, after natural disasters and other unrest, and it can also be requisitioned by the government to aid in national emergencies. The Indian Army has fought four wars, three against Pakistan and one against China. It has also participated in a number of international peacekeeping missions. The Indian Army is the Indian Armed Forces’ land-based branch. It is the world’s second-biggest and largest standing army. After all of the army’s selfless service, we needed a day to honor their bravery and brotherhood. On January 15, 2022, India will commemorate its 74th Army Day. Every year on this day, army personnel are honored for their selfless service to the country and setting the highest example of fraternity. Every Army Command Headquarters commemorates this day. Due to the third wave of the global pandemic of COVID-19, the day will be observed under strict regulations while preparations are underway.

The handover of authority from the British to India is the most significant chapter in India’s freedom from foreign domination. On this day, military parades and displays of the latest technology that the Indian Army has either acquired or brought into service are held at every Command Headquarters as well as the main headquarters in New Delhi.

The Indian Armed Forces will put on a spectacular performance today. They will demonstrate drones, Advanced Light Helicopters, and the new Light Combat Helicopter from the state-owned Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), which the Indian Army hopes to deploy in the Galwan sector. The BLT T-72 ‘Bharat Rakshak’ tank, the 155mm Soltum Gun, and the BrahMos Missiles will also be on display. The parade, which takes place every year at Cariappa Parade Ground in Delhi Cantt, is the primary event. The Army Chief of Staff, General Manoj Mukund Naravane, salutes, and bravery awards such as unit credentials and Sena medals are also presented on this day.

The Army’s backbone is engineering. It establishes the practical structure and logistical underpinnings necessary for this huge organization to function as a high-performance unit. Whether you’re giving theoretical expertise or assisting in the construction and maintenance of critical infrastructure. As an Engineer, you’ll be working with cutting-edge technology and hardware to help people in some of the world’s most impoverished areas. Military Engineer Services (MES) is the country’s largest construction agency. The MES, as the Ministry of Defence’s principal engineering arm, primarily serves the Army, Air Force, and Navy, as well as other Ministry of Defence-related ministries and organizations. The Combat engineers’ major mission is to offer mobility to own forces by building bridges, rails, and helipads; on the other hand, the Corps denies enemy forces mobility by erecting barriers like minefields and bridge destruction.

The Corps of Engineers consists of three major constituents namely:

  1. Combat Engineers

Combat Engineers: In conflict, Combat Engineers offer mobility to own forces by building bridges, rails, and helipads; on the other hand, the Corps denies enemy forces mobility by erecting barriers such as minefields and bridge destruction. Before combat engineering, there was a requirement for accurate surveying.

  1. The Military Engineering Service (MES)

The Military Engineer Services, or MES, are in charge of the design, construction, and maintenance of all Army-required works, buildings, airfields, dock installations, and ancillary services including military roads, water and electricity supply, drainage, refrigeration, and furniture.

  1. The Border Roads Organisation (BRO).

Border Roads Development Board and GREF make up the Border Roads Organization. The Lt General of the Corps of Engineers, often known as DGBR, is in charge of GREF. BRO has contributed to the nation’s infrastructure by creating national roadways, airfields, buildings, and bridges. Rajasthan and the North East States have benefited greatly from the Border Roadways by creating a vast number of roads in formerly inaccessible sections of the Himalayas.

The youngsters of today are the generation of tomorrow. It has been observed that the generation of today is keen to join the armed forces. If you wish to join the military, you can pursue a degree in Computer Science and Engineering or Electronics and Communication Engineering. These two branches have critical responsibilities in the military. The military is the only institution where candidates are chosen solely on merit, with no quota system in place. Second, it’s the only place where you can get a pension after you retire. For grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) in the Indian Army, the Indian Army is accepting online applications from unmarried Male and unmarried Female Engineering Graduates, as well as Windows of Defence Personnel who died in harness. The course will begin in April 2022 at Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

Engineers have a lot of roles in the armed forces. The Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers [EME] is responsible for ensuring and maintaining the operational readiness of the Indian Army’s electronic, mechanical, electrical, and optical equipment. Electronics and Mechanical Engineers are responsible for factory-level repairs on everything the Army uses. During war and peace, they are in charge of engineering support for army equipment such as light vehicles, tanks, guns, missiles, radars, computers, helicopters, communication equipment, night vision devices, simulators, and so on. The sophistication, quantity, and variety of military hardware have increased dramatically throughout the years.

Let’s celebrate this day with great pride and honor.

Jai Hind, Jai Bharat!
