The current health crisis has affected all sectors of the country as well as the world at large. While everything has come to a standstill at the moment, it is not possible to say when this crisis will get over soon as cases as on 3.5 lakh cases per day.  Due to the lockdown and the conditions imposed due to the Covid-19, not only have many supply chains seen massive disruption but also the preparation schedule of many students who had naturally started feeling demotivated and seem to have lost inspiration to work hard as they were doing earlier. However, during this uncertainty and the imposed lockdown, they should not lose hope and keep themselves positive at all times.

Unlike last year this year several students are infected along with their families and loved ones so it’s becoming very difficult to keep up the momentum going. We have seen multiple cases where students have lost their parents in front of this invisible enemy so it’s more difficult for such students.

As per the latest notifications from NTA and ministry of HRD, the JEE April & May exams has been postponed after the postponement of board exams. So, in the current situation exams might go up to September like last year. The students have to pick themselves up again from where they left and need to accelerate their preparation in order to score well in the upcoming exam. While most of the schools as well as coaching institutes are doing their best to help students through online classes, it is also important that students make full use of online teaching and study with a positive mindset.

To make the student’s life easier in this time of difficulty, here are some quick tips that they can use to prepare for the upcoming entrance exam- JEE, from home:

  • Make an effective timetable: Now that you are at home, you can easily divide your timetable in a better manner and increase the pace steadily for a strong preparation. Follow NCERT books for chemistry as they are the best books for your preparation. Keep your study material precise and follow it completely. Don’t go for too many books as you might get confused.
  • Online classes: Online classes are given by all schools, colleges as well as coaching institutes. As the course batch timings are convenient, so students can take classes comfortable & at a suitable time. Hence, students are advised proper time management at home to make the best of their online tutorials. They should not hesitate to ask questions wherever required. They should also make short notes from the online classes to gain a hold of important concepts. The students are also given an access to contact teachers at any point of time. They should always get their doubts cleared.
  • Mock tests:  Take a mock test daily and if you don’t have the current mock tests, attempt previous year papers. It is strongly advisable to stick to the notes and resources which you have prepared during the past two years or so. Do not fall prey to free resources provided online as they will only confuse you further and could also give misleading information.
  • Subject wise study: Choose the subject which needs more preparation first and focus on your weak points.  Spend more time on the weak topics and solve questions on a daily basis to overcome the challenging topics.
  • Revision: Revise the formulas, method of calculations; and test your speed according while timing yourself in order to prepare for the exams.

The students should continue following standard hygiene to stay fit and away from the virus. Don’t forget to wash your hands with soap or sanitize them throughout the day. Since the exam date is out, they should increase their focus on studies and follow a strict and healthy regime. Eat nutritious food and immunity building diet. Last but not the least, I advise all students to stay positive and not stress. Indulge in an indoor sport every now and then with your family and practice meditation. We wish you all the best for your career objectives from Vidyamandir Classes.
