On December 8, 2021, Bipin Rawat with his wife Madhulika Rawat, as well as members of his crew, were headed to the Defense Services Staff College (DSSC) to address students and faculty. General Rawat was a graduate of the Defense Services Staff College (DSSC), Wellington, and the United States Army Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, and was born in Pauri, Uttarakhand, on March 16, 1958. He was awarded many prestigious awards for courage and outstanding service over his nearly 43-year career, including the Param Vishisht Seva Medal, Uttam Yudh Seva Medal, and so on. Not only this but he also took charge as India’s first Chief of Defense Staff on January 1, 2020. He left a legacy that would be carried on and strengthened by future generations.
