General Bipin Rawat’s tragic death, trembled the nation. A tragic Incident shook Indians this Wednesday when a Mi-17V5 helicopter carrying Indian Air Force Chief of Defense Staff General Bipin Rawat and 13 others crashed. On December 8, 2021, Bipin Rawat with his wife Madhulika Rawat, as well as members of his crew, were headed to the Defense Services Staff College (DSSC) to address students and faculty. After the crash of the chopper, the investigators were looking for the black box. As a result of the discovery of the black box, the inquiry is still ongoing. 

General Bipin Rawat was a great soldier. He made a significant contribution to modernizing Indian armed forces and security apparatus as a real patriot. He was a visionary who led the Indian military’s higher defense organization through far-reaching reforms. He played a key role in establishing India’s combined theatre commands and promoting increased indigenization of military equipment. General Rawat was a graduate of the Defense Services Staff College (DSSC), Wellington, and the United States Army Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, and was born in Pauri, Uttarakhand, on March 16, 1958. He was awarded many prestigious awards for courage and outstanding service over his nearly 43-year career, including the Param Vishisht Seva Medal, Uttam Yudh Seva Medal, and so on. Not only this but he also took charge as India’s first Chief of Defense Staff on January 1, 2020. He left a legacy that would be carried on and strengthened by future generations.
