As the National Testing Agency (NTA) gears up to kick off the Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main) 2024 session 2 from April 4th to April 15th, candidates must adhere diligently to the prescribed guidelines. This session encompasses Paper 1 (BE/BTech), as well as Paper 2A and 2B (BArch and BPlanning). To ensure a smooth and successful examination experience, here are the crucial guidelines issued by the NTA that candidates ought to follow:

1. Timely Arrival: It is strongly advised that candidates arrive at the examination center well in advance, preferably two hours before the scheduled commencement of the examination. Punctuality is paramount as any delay, whether due to traffic congestion or transportation issues, may result in missing vital instructions announced within the examination venue. The NTA shall not be held responsible for any such delays.

2. Adherence to Instructions: Upon entering the examination hall, candidates are expected to promptly occupy their designated seats. Failure to do so may lead to missing out on important directives. It’s imperative to heed the instructions announced by the examination authorities.

3. Mandatory Documentation: Candidates must possess their Admit Cards, downloaded and printed from the NTA website, along with authorized Photo IDs for admission into the examination hall. Entry will be strictly prohibited for those lacking these essential documents, irrespective of the circumstances. A seat with a designated Roll Number will be allocated to each candidate, and they must occupy the assigned seat without deviation.

4. Verification of Question Paper: Before commencing the examination, candidates should ensure that the question paper displayed on the computer screen corresponds to their chosen subject as indicated in the Admit Card. The invigilator should be notified right away of any disparities.

5. Assistance and Support: Throughout the examination duration, candidates may seek technical assistance, first aid, or any necessary information from the Center Superintendent or Invigilator. It’s essential to address any concerns promptly to maintain a conducive testing environment.

Documents Required on Exam Day:

Candidates must present the following documents at the test center:

  • Printed Admit Card accompanied by a duly filled Self Declaration (Undertaking), obtained from the NTA website.
  • One passport-size photograph, identical to the one uploaded during the Online Application submission, for affixing on the Attendance Sheet.
  • A valid and non-expired photo ID, such as School Identity Card, PAN card, Driving License, Voter ID, Passport, Aadhaar Card (with photograph), E-Aadhaar (with photograph), Ration Card (with photograph), Bank Passbook (with Photograph) or Class 12 Board Admit Card (with Photograph).
  • PwD (Persons with Disabilities) certificate issued by an authorized medical officer, if applicable.
  • Alternatively, a PwD Certificate outlining physical limitations in examination conditions, as per the annexures provided in the Information Bulletin.

Additional Essentials:

Candidates are required to carry a simple transparent Ball Point Pen for the examination. This specific requirement ensures uniformity and eliminates any potential discrepancies during the test.

Closing Thoughts

In summary, adherence to these guidelines is indispensable for a seamless and efficient examination process. By following these instructions diligently, candidates can focus on their performance with confidence and clarity. The NTA remains committed to facilitating a fair and transparent evaluation environment, and cooperation from all stakeholders is instrumental in achieving this objective. Best wishes to all candidates undertaking the JEE Main Session 2 examination!
